Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator – Driver (Madrid)

About the role

The Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator will drive and monitor self‑driving cars on a variety of routes in and around Madrid. The role begins with a fully expense‑paid, four‑to‑six‑week training program in the United States, after which you will return to Spain to operate cutting‑edge autonomous vehicles for a 12‑month contract, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Operate autonomous vehicles on defined and undefined routes, primarily monitoring the system while ready to intervene manually.
• Collect and log operational data, provide verbal feedback on vehicle behaviour, and complete detailed ride reports for engineering teams.
• Test additional vehicle functions and software components as required.
• Work a 40‑hour week that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Maintain the highest safety standards both inside and outside the vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid EU/EEA Category B driving licence held for at least five years.
• Valid passport and ability to travel to the USA for training.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check (last 10 years) and quarterly re‑checks.
• Pass drug & alcohol testing at hire and random monthly tests.
• Pass Defensive Driving Training with a score of 90 % or higher.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a laptop and Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs).
