Backend Engineer – Microservices & Cloud (Golang/Python)

About the role

You will join Aistech Space’s engineering team to design, build, and scale microservices that deliver high‑resolution thermal imagery from a satellite constellation to end users. The role focuses on writing robust, cloud‑native code while collaborating closely with Platform and DevOps engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high‑performance microservices using Golang and Python, applying Hexagonal Architecture and Domain‑Driven Design.
• Develop inter‑service communication with gRPC and Protocol Buffers, and expose RESTful endpoints via API gateways.
• Integrate geospatial business logic and Earth Observation standards such as STAC and STAPI.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for low‑latency telemetry and image metadata access.
• Containerise applications with Docker and ensure reliable deployment on Kubernetes in GCP, incorporating observability and security best practices.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and/or Python, with willingness to work deeply in both.
• Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, RESTful API design, and clean architecture principles.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching or messaging systems.
• Fluent English communication skills.
