Cloud BTP Developer – GenAI Suite for SAP

About the role

As a Cloud BTP Developer you will design and implement core features of our GenAI suite for SAP, delivering robust multi‑tenant SaaS solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform. You will own end‑to‑end user stories from design through deployment, ensuring reliability, scalability and smooth onboarding for customer sub‑accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain backend services using CAP and Node.js/TypeScript with SAP HANA Cloud and HDI containers.
• Implement multitenancy patterns such as automatic subscriber HDI container upgrades and tenant onboarding/off‑boarding flows.
• Integrate with DevOps deployer and sub‑account management applications.
• Develop and maintain UI features in SAPUI5/Fiori when required.
• Configure autoscaling, routing and approuter setups, including hostname refactoring to meet DNS constraints.
• Build Python‑based services for retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and document processing, deploying them via MTA or CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead medium‑sized refactorings: remove obsolete services, adapt code to new CAP/BTP best practices, improve logging and authentication.
• Collaborate with DevOps, AMS and Professional Services teams to troubleshoot customer issues, support sub‑account onboarding and contribute to technical documentation.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and release planning.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience in Node.js/TypeScript backend development or Java‑based services on SAP BTP.
• Practical experience with cloud‑native applications (12‑factor principles, configuration management, logging).
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL and schema migrations.
• Experience with GitLab or similar CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy stages).
