Cloud Engineer - Data Platforms

About the role

Roche is looking for a Cloud Engineer for its Data Platforms team in Madrid. You will help architect, implement and maintain the infrastructure and deployment pipelines of the company's search platform on AWS, supporting scalability, reliability and security. The position is listed as hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Cloud DevOps Enterprise Search team, collaborating with stakeholders, customers and external teams.
• Focus on priorities, milestones and deliverables as directed by the product management team.
• Contribute to technical implementations and decisions within the team.
• Meet SLAs on customer deployments in a global environment.
• Help maintain the service after launch by measuring and monitoring availability and system health, and improving infrastructure reliability.
• Collaborate with clients, other IT departments and managed service suppliers on Cloud IT solutions.
• Handle troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience in IT (networking, infrastructure, database).
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in one or more multinational environments; healthcare experience is a plus.
• Preferred: AWS Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, or equivalent knowledge of AWS and Azure.

Required skills

• Designing, implementing and operating hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
• Containers and serverless: EKS, Lambda, AWS ECR.
• Cloud networking: VPC subnets, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, Network Firewall.
• Application networking: AWS API Gateway, NLB/ALB.
• Observability: Grafana, ElasticSearch.
• DevOps pipeline automation: GitLab CI/CD, Ansible.
• Infrastructure as code: CloudFormation, Terraform; scripting with Python.
• FinOps for cloud cost optimization; AI pipeline development is preferable.
• Agile SDLC, version control (GitHub, Git, Bitbucket), JIRA, Confluence, Tableau and knowledge management tools are a plus.
