Controls Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Dematic, a global leader in intelligent intralogistics and automated material handling, is looking for a Controls Commissioning Engineer in Coslada, Spain. It is a hands-on role focused on electrical and PLC software commissioning of automated warehouse and material handling systems at customer sites, helping bring complex automation solutions into operation safely, on time and to specification. International travel is part of the job.

Key responsibilities

• Complete pre-commissioning (electrical commissioning) of standard Dematic solutions, by discipline
• Take part in pre-commissioning of non-standard or third-party solutions under guidance and supervision
• Take part in designing semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software, and lead commissioning and design efforts in semi-complex areas with assistance
• Take part in PLC software design, commissioning on site, and software PLC emulation development and testing of semi-complex systems
• Recommend ideas for productivity improvement, cost reduction and better customer satisfaction, and help improve processes for time, cost and quality
• Support hotline calls and host integration and post-go-live support on site

Required profile

• Studies in Electrical/Controls Engineering
• Experience in a similar role
• Ability to travel to customer sites, domestically and internationally (60-80%)
• Full driver's licence to cover the travel requirements

Required skills

• Good understanding of PLC, HMI and SCADA development and commissioning software
• Hands-on experience with electrical commissioning
• Good understanding of electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings
• Understanding of distributed control systems and automated warehouses desirable but not essential
