Data Engineer

About the role

Join Bitpanda’s Data Engineering team to help build and operate a modern data platform that powers decision‑making across the company. You will work on data pipelines, core data models and governance processes while collaborating with product, finance, risk and engineering stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate a reliable, high‑performance data platform for internal users.
• Shape the core data model, define data quality, governance and lifecycle standards.
• Design, implement and maintain observable data pipelines using best‑in‑class engineering practices.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate business goals into measurable data solutions.
• Contribute to team strategy and road‑mapping aligned with organisational objectives.

Required profile

• Experience building production‑grade data flows with Python and SQL.
• Proficiency scheduling and orchestrating pipelines with Airflow or Dagster.
• Hands‑on experience modeling and testing transformations in dbt.
• Comfortable working in AWS (or GCP/Azure) and provisioning infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Operational knowledge of Snowflake, including role management, performance and cost optimisation.
• Understanding of data quality, validation, documentation, lineage and privacy.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
