Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus Defence and Space’s Airborne Connectivity team in Getafe, Madrid, to develop high‑integrity, real‑time embedded software for military airborne platforms. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition to testing and implementation on target computers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded software following strict aerospace standards (SW requirements, design, coding, verification, configuration, documentation, and change management).
• Collaborate with product managers, system engineers, and validation teams to deliver high‑quality software on schedule.
• Lead design and architectural decisions for specific projects and support software QA activities.
• Occasionally travel nationally and internationally for up to three‑day trips.

Required profile

• Degree in software, IT, telecommunications, industrial engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in real‑time or embedded software development.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Ada for low‑level development.
• Experience with real‑time embedded systems and software verification.
• Knowledge of DO‑178C airworthiness certification processes.
• Familiarity with SysML, UML, Eclipse (or similar IDEs), Vector Cast, and AdaTest95.
