About the role

Monzo is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing, senior engineering team in Barcelona. You will be responsible for shaping technical delivery, fostering an inclusive culture, and partnering with product, design, research, and data to drive the mission‑focused roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a senior engineering squad, supporting career growth.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Research, and Data teams to define strategy, vision, and goals.
• Own delivery accountability, collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers.
• Raise the bar for engineering excellence and drive technical initiatives across the area.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, creating focus space for engineers.
• Contribute to company‑wide best practices and standards within the wider engineering organisation.
