Enterprise Architect – Digital Business Platforms

About the role

The DBP Enterprise Architect will design and operationalise architecture blueprints for Digital Business Platforms (DBPs) within BASF’s Research, Development & Regulatory (R&D&R) environment. Based in the BASF Digital Hub Madrid, you will join a global, diverse team that drives digital innovation and supports the company’s position as a leader in the chemical industry.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document domain‑specific architecture blueprints for functional areas or technology domains.
• Ensure integration of business processes, value streams and information flows across DBPs.
• Align architecture solutions with Global Process Owners, Digital Offices and Enterprise Architecture governance.
• Promote harmonisation, innovation and seamless integration across business and IT landscapes.
• Collaborate with IT Solutions Architects, product and portfolio teams, and report to the DBP Business Lead.
• Participate in the R&D Digital Leadership Team to maintain matrix‑wide alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience defining architecture blueprints for digital platforms.
• Familiarity with R&D and regulatory environments.
• Ability to work with Global Process Owners, Digital Offices and Enterprise Architecture governance structures.
• Strong collaboration skills within cross‑functional, matrix‑based teams.
