Executive Director – Structured Finance Energy (European Platform)

About the role

Join Santander's European Structured Finance Energy team as an Executive Director, leading the origination and execution of financing and advisory transactions across power and renewable sectors. Based in Madrid, you will shape the platform’s growth and contribute to the energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the origination and execution of financing and advisory opportunities in the Power and Renewable sectors.
• Develop and maintain senior client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Drive business development, identifying new opportunities and expanding the client franchise.
• Structure and negotiate complex financing solutions across lending and advisory mandates.
• Oversee end‑to‑end transaction execution, coordinating internal teams (DCM, Ratings Advisory, Risk Solutions, Legal, Risk) and external stakeholders.
• Lead interactions with funding providers, including banks, debt funds, and institutional investors, in advisory mandates.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in structured finance within the power or renewable energy sector.
• Strong track record of managing complex, cross‑border transactions.
• Excellent client relationship and business development skills at the decision‑maker level.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external partners.
• Deep understanding of risk management in large‑scale financing.
