Financial Reporting Assistant (Contract)

About the role

The Financial Reporting Assistant prepares, or assists with the preparation of, financial statements, supporting general ledger schedules, reconciliations and other management reports for the Corporation. This is a contract position within the finance department, reporting to senior finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Develop analytical schedules and detailed working papers to support statements.
• Review and correct transaction recordings to ensure compliance with IFRS and group policies.
• Maintain journal entries, treasury transaction records, and reconcile brokerage accounts.
• Prepare regulatory reports, tax calculations, VAT returns and draft corporation tax returns.
• Lead or assist with ad‑hoc finance projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• First degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Finance).
• Pursuing the final level of a professional accounting designation such as ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience preparing financial statements under IFRS.
• At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a financial environment.
• High confidentiality, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
