Fixed Income Trader

About the role

West Indies Stockbrokers Limited (WISE) is seeking a proactive Fixed Income Trader to execute securities trades, manage market risk, and support client objectives. The role requires a keen awareness of market trends and the ability to devise creative solutions that add value for both clients and the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Execute approved fixed‑income and equity trades accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Risk Management and Compliance to ensure smooth trading operations.
• Represent WISE on regulatory matters related to fixed‑income trading.
• Prepare and distribute trading reports for public consumption.
• Maintain and improve the trading website, ensuring up‑to‑date information.
• Provide backup support for the Equity Trader as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum five years of experience in capital markets, with at least two years in a trading environment.
• Strong knowledge of fixed‑income and equity markets and investment risk.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑motivated, and able to meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
• Effective written and oral communication with cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bloomberg terminal.
• Experience using Avvento trading platform.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
