FX Corporate Sales – Financial Sponsors (Continental Europe)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an FX Corporate Sales professional to serve Financial Sponsor clients across Continental Europe. Based in Madrid, you will provide fund‑level FX solutions that support private equity mega‑funds and mid‑market sponsors in their cross‑border investments and currency risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage senior relationships with financial sponsors, focusing on fund‑level FX needs.
• Originating and executing FX transactions linked to M&A, capital calls, fund subscriptions, distributions, and cross‑border investment flows.
• Advise clients on FX risk management strategies at the fund level, including multi‑currency exposure and liquidity planning.
• Partner closely with Investment Banking, Financial Sponsor Coverage, and Financing teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of sponsor investment strategies, fund structures, and geographic exposures to proactively identify FX opportunities.
• Drive revenue generation through strategic engagement with key decision‑makers such as Partners, CFOs, and Treasury teams.
• Provide market insights and actionable FX ideas tailored to sponsor‑driven capital deployment and fundraising cycles.
• Ensure adherence to internal compliance, regulatory standards, and risk‑management frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience building senior relationships with private‑equity and alternative‑asset managers.
• Strong knowledge of fund‑level FX products and risk‑management techniques.
• Understanding of sponsor investment strategies, fund structures, and cross‑border capital flows.
• Ability to collaborate with investment‑banking and financing teams to deliver integrated solutions.
