General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Fagron is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its Shared Service Center in Barcelona. You will support accounting activities for multiple EMEA countries, working with a dynamic international team and gaining daily learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Post general ledger journal entries in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Navision for various legal entities (salary, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, bank statements).
• Execute month, quarter and year‑end IFRS closings and deliver accurate financial statements to the OneStream reporting system.
• Reconcile bank ledgers, intercompany balances, and ensure timely posting of bank statements.
• Prepare periodic reports such as sales and OWC, and collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Payable teams.
• Maintain clean balance‑sheet accounts, file VAT, Intrastat and other tax declarations on time.
• Support group and local audits, and prepare statutory accounts according to local GAAP.
• Manage asset leasing under IFRS 16, including lease asset recognition and monthly depreciation.
• Identify and implement process improvements and KPI enhancements.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes, IFRS standards, and month‑end close procedures.
• Fluent English; additional European language is a plus.
• Customer‑oriented, organized, detail‑focused and proactive.
• Independent with a hands‑on mentality and a drive for continuous improvement.
