General Ledger Accountant – Shared Service Center

About the role

Fagron is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its Shared Service Center in Barcelona. You will support accounting activities for multiple EMEA countries, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Post general ledger journal entries in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Navision for multiple legal entities, covering salaries, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and bank statements.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end IFRS closings and deliver financial statements to the group reporting system (OneStream).
• Reconcile bank ledgers, intercompany balances, and ensure timely posting of bank statements.
• Prepare periodic reports such as sales and OWC.
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to guarantee accurate financial data.
• Maintain clean balance‑sheet accounts and ensure timely filing of tax declarations (VAT, Intrastat, etc.).
• Support group and local audits and prepare statutory accounts according to local GAAP.
• Manage asset leasing under IFRS 16, including lease‑asset recognition and monthly depreciation.
• Identify and implement process improvements and KPI enhancements.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting processes, IFRS and local GAAP.
• Fluent English; additional European language is a plus.
• Customer‑oriented, collaborative attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, independent, and hands‑on mindset.
