Global ESG Director

About the role

As the Global ESG Director, you will lead the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles across SAMY’s worldwide operations. Reporting to the Chief People Officer and working closely with the executive team, you will turn ESG commitments into measurable business impact and a competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and continuously evolve SAMY’s global ESG strategy, embedding responsible business practices throughout the organisation.
• Own employee engagement and culture initiatives, ensuring SAMY’s values are embedded across the employee lifecycle.
• Partner with senior leaders to strengthen engagement, wellbeing, productivity and retention, especially during acquisitions.
• Lead implementation and improvement of programmes such as OWN IT, Mentoring, Parenthood at SAMY, volunteering, mobility initiatives and the ESG Ambassador Network.
• Manage ESG governance, policies, reporting and compliance, coordinating data collection, audits and disclosures for the Board, investors, lenders, clients and other stakeholders.
• Define and monitor ESG KPIs across People, Finance, Legal, Procurement and Operations to drive measurable impact.
• Maintain relationships with ESG rating agencies, conduct materiality assessments and support ESG due‑diligence responses.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading ESG or sustainability programmes in a global, multi‑market environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C‑suite and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and change‑management capabilities.
