Global Tax Manager

About the role

BizAway is seeking a driven Global Tax Manager to lead the company’s indirect tax strategy worldwide. Based in Barcelona, you will act as the definitive authority on tax matters, bridging high‑level planning with day‑to‑day execution across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and optimise current indirect tax processes, establishing relationships with private‑equity partners, external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Implement tax logic for the new Group Holding/OpCo structure and finalise the global Transfer Pricing policy.
• Automate at least 80% of VAT compliance workflows in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
• Develop and execute indirect tax strategies for hotel, flight and rail business lines, ensuring compliance with the Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme (TOMS) and other VAT/GST regulations.
• Provide tax‑focused go‑to‑market blueprints for expansion into APAC and AMER regions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in indirect tax, particularly VAT/GST and the Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme.
• Proven ability to work with private‑equity stakeholders and external tax advisors.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret multi‑jurisdictional tax legislation.
• Experience in automating tax processes and collaborating with product/engineering teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of European travel VAT (Art. 74‑ter / TOMS).
• Transfer Pricing policy development.
