Government Affairs & Policy Internship

About the role

Johnson & Johnson's Government Affairs & Policy team in Madrid is looking for a full-time intern to support its Innovative Medicine business. The internship lasts 1 year, starts in January 2027 and pays 1,000 euros per month.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse healthcare, pharmaceutical, innovation and regulatory policy developments at Spanish and European level.
• Help prepare briefing materials, stakeholder maps, meeting summaries, presentations and reports for internal and external engagements.
• Contribute to monitoring legislative and policy initiatives that could affect the healthcare sector and the business.
• Support the organisation of meetings, events and interactions with industry associations, public administrations, policymakers, patient organisations and other stakeholders.
• Research and compile information on healthcare systems, access to innovation, competitiveness, sustainability and public policy priorities.
• Prepare internal communications and policy updates to share policy developments across the organisation.
• Take part in team projects and develop analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Report suspected adverse reactions to the Pharmacovigilance Department within 24 hours of becoming aware of them.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Political Science, Government Affairs, European Studies, International Relations, Public Policy, Law (international or public affairs focus) or a related field.
• Strong interest in politics, EU affairs, public policy and regulation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency in English.
