Grant & Financial Consultant (Madrid)

About the role

Kleo is looking for a Grant & Financial Consultant to join its fast‑growing grant operations team in Madrid. You will be the financial expert behind every funding application, using the company’s AI platform to streamline the process and help startups secure public grants, loans and private investment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) of applicant companies.
• Build 3‑5 year financial projections, sensitivity analyses and robust financial models.
• Draft, submit and manage public grant and loan applications, ensuring technical and financial compliance.
• Identify the most suitable funding programmes (ENISA, CDTI, regional grants, etc.) for each client.
• Collaborate directly with founders and CFOs to gather and validate financial data.
• Work with product and tech teams to feed insights into the AI workflow and reduce manual consulting effort.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, audit, public‑funding consulting or a related field.
• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or similar; a master’s is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Spanish and European non‑dilutive funding mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Excel and Google Sheets.
• Financial modeling and projection skills.
• Ability to analyse P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
