Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will be based in Spain and operate at the heart of a fast‑scaling global technology company. This senior finance leadership position is responsible for safeguarding financial integrity, ensuring robust governance, and delivering high‑quality accounting and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end financial control, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including statutory accounts.
• Design, implement and continuously improve financial policies, controls and governance frameworks for scalable global operations.
• Oversee balance‑sheet integrity, reconciliations, journal reviews and the financial close process.
• Manage external audit relationships and act as primary contact for auditors, tax authorities and external advisors.
• Drive finance‑system enhancements, process improvements and data‑quality initiatives, leveraging automation and AI‑enabled tools.
• Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and IFRS standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of precision and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Extensive senior accounting or financial control experience, preferably in a global technology or SaaS environment.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Deep expertise in IFRS and multi‑entity financial reporting.
• Proven experience managing audits and financial governance in international organisations.
• Strong analytical mindset with a commitment to accuracy and structured problem‑solving.
