Harness / Electrical & Electronics ME - Spacecraft AIT

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) is looking for a Harness / Electrical & Electronics Manufacturing Engineer for Spacecraft AIT. The role sits in the Technological Areas Team supporting a set of Space projects, and aims to deliver an end-to-end, time- and cost-optimized harness manufacturing and integration process that meets project requirements and Airbus business standards. It is a key Project-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Define and optimize the manufacturing and integration process for electrical harness activities, including build process, work sequence, process flow, lead times, critical paths, skills mapping, resources, industrial means and production constraints, in line with Airbus operational standards.
• Work with Engineering during the development phase to ensure designs are feasible and compatible with the industrial system, helping define the as-planned structure.
• Prepare and maintain the Manufacturing Dossier and work preparation documentation, including procedures, work orders, manufacturing bill of material, work instructions, test documentation, material and process selection lists.
• Support Production and AIT teams during shopfloor execution of breadboards, Qualification and Flight Models, and provide support at customer sites, supplier facilities or spaceports during launch campaigns.
• Drive industrial performance and continuous improvement, integrating Quality, PFMEA and Health & Safety requirements, and contribute to SQCDP panels, schedule reviews and recovery plans.
• Contribute to project industrial planning, bids and investments, including production line balancing, process times, lead times, resource optimization, CapEx planning and the specification of jigs, tools, tooling and machines.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering or a related discipline; a lower qualification may be considered with strong relevant experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in Space products, Manufacturing Engineering or electrical/electronic manufacturing and testing.
• Good understanding of electrical engineering and systems, and of manufacturing techniques and aerospace standards such as ECSS, ESCC and MIL.
• Ability to prepare and understand clear manufacturing documentation and instructions.
• Good written and verbal English; availability to work off-site at short notice and occasional extended hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of CATIA Electrical Module, Excel VBA, Google Apps Script, Windchill, SAP or other ERP systems is valued.
• Nice to have: RF & Antennas experience and previous support of Spacecraft AIT, Qualification or Flight Models.
