Head of Community

About the role

Gaia is launching a new community platform where members can connect, share playlists, post user‑generated content, and engage around shared interests and values. We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on Head of Community to shape the member experience, drive engagement, and evolve the platform in partnership with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Content teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategy for launching and continuously improving the community experience.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay member feedback, prioritize feature enhancements, and influence the roadmap.
• Design programs and campaigns that boost adoption, engagement, and retention.
• Create opportunities for members to connect, share playlists, contribute UGC, and participate meaningfully.
• Collect and analyze member feedback, behavioral data, and engagement trends to refine product and community strategy.
• Establish community standards, best practices, and governance for a healthy, values‑aligned environment.
• Partner with Marketing and Content to promote participation and deepen member connections.
• Identify and onboard existing communities, creators, or partners onto the platform.
• Set KPIs and use qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate performance and forecast impact.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in community building, audience engagement, digital product, growth, or lifecycle marketing.
• Proven track record of building, launching, or scaling an online community.
• Experience in a B2C growth company with annual revenue over $25 million.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, especially with Product and Engineering.
• Deep understanding of content discovery, user engagement, and UGC‑driven products.
