Head of Purchasing – Spain

About the role

Linde + Wiemann is seeking a Head of Purchasing for its Spanish operations. Reporting to the local management team, you will shape and execute the procurement strategy for a leading automotive supplier, ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier excellence, and supply‑chain resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a purchasing strategy aligned with group objectives.
• Develop medium‑ and long‑term sourcing plans for direct materials, especially steel and related alloys.
• Lead strategic negotiations and manage relationships with key raw‑material suppliers.
• Drive cost‑optimization, risk mitigation, and value‑creation initiatives.
• Support new‑project sourcing and collaborate with Operations, Quality, Finance, and Engineering.
• Lead, coach, and develop the local purchasing team, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8–10 years of purchasing experience in a Tier 1 automotive environment, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in raw‑material purchasing, particularly steel.

Required skills

• Steel procurement (galvanized, micro‑alloyed, electro‑galvanized, cold‑rolled, boron).
• Supplier negotiation and performance management.
• Strategic sourcing and cost‑optimization.
