Insurance Compliance Counsel

About the role

Alan is looking for an Insurance Compliance Counsel to become the company’s expert on members' insurance compliance and consumer‑protection regulation. You will translate regulatory obligations into Alan’s tools, processes and products, own the compliance posture for your scope, and act as the primary interface with regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Define how regulatory obligations (IDD, duty of advice, product governance, AML/CFT, etc.) are reflected in operational processes, product design and tooling.
• Suggest optimal ways to meet regulatory requirements while improving member experience, including pricing, UX choices and complaint handling.
• Proactively identify compliance risks, assess exposure and develop mitigation plans with internal stakeholders.
• Lead the structuring and continuous improvement of the complaints‑management framework across France, Belgium and Spain, ensuring alignment with ACPR recommendations and local equivalents.
• Serve as the compliance function’s liaison for reporting and audits, ensuring findings are digested, remediated and embedded.
• Support the expansion into new markets by adapting group frameworks to local requirements and establishing compliance foundations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance compliance and consumer‑protection regulation.
• Strong knowledge of IDD, duty of advice, product governance and AML/CFT requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage compliance risks and design mitigation strategies.
• Experience leading complaints‑management frameworks in France, Belgium or Spain.
• Comfort interacting with regulators, auditors and cross‑functional teams (legal, insurance, operations, sales, care, product).
