IT Project Manager - RDT Pharma R&D

About the role

Roche is hiring an IT Project Manager for its RDT Pharma R&D team in Madrid. The role leads moderately complex deliveries, defines and controls the scope of medium to large initiatives, manages diverse stakeholders and contributes to strategic implementation. Depending on organizational needs, the position may sit in roles such as Project Manager, Service (Delivery) Manager, ITSM Process SME, Scrum Master, RTE or Agile Coach.

Key responsibilities

• Define, manage and control the scope of medium to large initiatives or significant workstreams, including scope changes and risk mitigation
• Analyze complex delivery problems, run root cause analysis and lead improvement plans
• Manage stakeholders across functions, communicate their needs and act as a trusted advisor
• Oversee the roadmap of feature requests and bug fixes, and drive backlog completion in Jira and ServiceNow using Agile methods
• Apply AI-capable tools to automate routine tasks and reduce manual overhead
• Maintain awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCS) when scoping and designing features

Required profile

• Proven track record in delivery management roles (Project Manager, Service Manager, Scrum Master, RTE, Agile Coach) managing medium to large initiatives
• Experience delivering complex features or projects such as service transitions or ART increments
• Experience turning requirements into implementation plans and contributing to business planning and forecasting
• Life sciences/pharma experience, including clinical trial data and GXP standards; clinical imaging data is a strong plus
• Exceptional stakeholder management, coaching and mentoring abilities, and clear documentation

Required skills

• Proficiency with backlog management, incident tracking and ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
• Understanding of cloud-native environments, specifically AWS
• Ability to select and adapt delivery methodologies and use advanced delivery tools
