Java Developer - Omni-channel Retail Back-end

About the role

SQLI, a European customer experience and digital transformation services group, is looking for a Java Developer in Valencia to help build and optimise the back-end solutions supporting its luxury Maisons' e-commerce and omni-channel retail platforms. You will design, develop and maintain Java microservices integrated with order management, fulfilment and retail systems, working in an Agile, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements to design robust back-end solutions for omni-channel retail and order management.
• Develop, test, debug and deploy Java microservices, and integrate them with Order Management Systems and retail platforms (order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, payments).
• Maintain existing services and troubleshoot defects, integration issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with the Support team on production incidents and with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Work with QA engineers on testing strategies and automated tests, and take part in Agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• 5+ years as a Java Software Engineer, fluent in English (French or other languages a plus).
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with microservices, event-driven architectures and RESTful APIs, and hands-on experience with omni-retail and e-commerce solutions.
• Experience connecting online sales platforms with physical retail operations (inventory, fulfilment, click-and-collect, returns).

• Databases: MySQL and MongoDB.
• Containerised and cloud-native environments: Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Helm.
• Event messaging (AWS SQS, Solace, Pub/Sub) and security (OAuth2, OIDC, Keycloak, Okta).
• Tooling: IntelliJ, Maven, SonarQube, Datadog, Insomnia, Jira, Confluence.
