About the role

The Kitchen Section Head will lead the preparation and production of dishes for the Barceló Hamilton Menorca hotel. You will ensure efficient organization, high culinary standards, and strict compliance with food safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Organise the preparation of raw materials and utensils, and allocate tasks for optimal workflow.
• Supervise and develop recipes based on menu cycles and best food‑handling practices.
• Direct and oversee assistants and cooks in the preparation of all station dishes.
• Monitor cleaning, preservation and replenishment of food items within the station.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping and application of hygienic‑sanitary controls.
• Assist with basic receiving, storage and internal stock replenishment following established procedures.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management or Hospitality, or a degree in Tourism.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar kitchen‑lead role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software and kitchen equipment.
• Strong taste and smell memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, planning and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• HACCP (food safety) knowledge.
• Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office).
• Familiarity with kitchen machinery and utensils.
