About the role
The Tools Development Engineer will join the Jigs & Tools department within Manufacturing Engineering at Airbus’s Cádiz site. You will lead the definition, development and delivery of jigs and tools that support aircraft production, acting as the primary technical interface with external suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead analysis, assessment and formal acceptance of Jigs & Tools (J&T) requests.
- Act as Technical Project Leader for J&T, coordinating design, development and supplier interaction.
- Drive supplier down‑selection and monitor end‑to‑end performance.
- Create and validate Multi‑Functional Team (MFT) documentation and ensure integrity of design and manufacturing data sets.
- Orchestrate the Manufacturing Acceptance process together with Plant/FAL Quality Assurance.
- Define technical requirements for maintenance, training, recertification and re‑calibration to guarantee long‑term reliability.
- Manage handover of tooling to Operations, ensuring all technical specifications are met for production.
- Design innovative J&T solutions for new developments, R&T projects and strategic industrial transfers.
Required profile
- Extensive professional experience as a Jigs and Tools Engineer.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and work with external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing documentation, quality assurance and lifecycle management.
