Junior Full Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Discoup is looking for a pragmatic, hands‑on Junior Full Stack Engineer to help scale its discount‑code and coupon platform. You will work remotely with an international team, focusing on backend services while gaining exposure to modern functional programming.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Contribute to the core platform (Elixir/Phoenix preferred) and improve existing codebases.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high‑volume traffic.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver reliable features.
• Enhance platform reliability, observability, and scalability.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision‑making.
• Support API development and third‑party integrations.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and engineering best practices.
• Help raise code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering background with solid PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Experience building APIs, distributed systems, and high‑traffic applications.
• Understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and containerised deployments.
• Proficiency with Git workflows and modern development practices.
• Collaborative mindset and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.
