Lead Solution Architect – Cloud & AI Solutions

About the role

Join Zurich Technology Delivery Center in Barcelona as a Lead Solution Architect, driving cloud‑native and AI‑enabled solution designs that support global insurance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end cloud‑native and AI‑enabled solution architectures aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Define architecture principles, standards and best practices for scalability, security, reliability and maintainability across microservices, APIs, data pipelines and AI workloads.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and technical teams to translate requirements into solution designs and non‑functional specifications.
• Mentor solution architects and engineering teams, review and approve architectural artefacts, and manage governance processes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as managed AI services, LLM platforms, event streaming and serverless, recommending innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in solution or enterprise architecture and technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud platforms, including Kubernetes, serverless, managed databases and IAM.
• Proven experience designing microservices, APIs, event‑driven architectures and modern integration patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with GitOps practices and Terraform IaC.
• Fluent English communication skills.
