Legal Counsel

About the role

Seqera.io is seeking a full‑time in‑house Legal Counsel to take ownership of day‑to‑day commercial contracting and build legal operations as the company scales. You will report to a fractional Head of Legal while working closely with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, IT & Compliance, and People.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate customer agreements, MSAs, DPAs, SaaS terms, NDAs, partner and vendor contracts.
• Set up and manage contract lifecycle management, including repository, version control, renewal tracking and automation of routine tasks.
• Support corporate governance, equity, compensation, board documentation and regulatory filings.
• Assist with data‑privacy compliance (GDPR and global frameworks) and maintain processing records and sub‑processor lists.
• Provide legal input for security, procurement reviews and cross‑functional product feature launches.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years post‑qualification experience in in‑house tech/SaaS or private practice.
• Qualified to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Hands‑on commercial contracting experience, preferably in high‑growth SaaS environments.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and exposure to privacy, corporate, IP or compliance work.
• Experience in a startup, scale‑up or international venture‑backed business is highly preferred.
