M&A Analyst (TMT)

About the role

Join Santander Corporate & Investment Banking’s telecom and digital infrastructure investment banking team in Madrid as an M&A Analyst (TMT). You will support senior bankers in delivering high‑quality client materials and executing M&A and IPO transactions across the European telecom and digital infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare client materials such as pitchbooks, strategic reviews, management presentations, information memoranda, board materials and internal approval documents.
• Conduct detailed sector, company, investor and transaction analysis for European telecom and digital infrastructure markets.
• Monitor market developments, valuation trends, regulatory themes and investor activity across sub‑sectors including data centres, towers, fiber, B2C/B2B telecoms and media.
• Perform valuation work using DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions and other sector‑specific approaches.
• Build and review financial models, including operating models, DCFs, merger and accretion/dilution analyses, valuation frameworks and sensitivity analyses.
• Support live transaction execution for M&A and IPO processes, coordinating due diligence, managing workstreams and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist senior bankers with client dialogue, strategic analysis and origination ideas.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking or a related financial advisory role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with a proactive approach to risk management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
