Maitre d'Hotel – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Maitre d'Hotel will lead the dining and beverage areas of the Palacio Gran Vía, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, ensuring an exceptional guest experience in a luxury environment. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Director and oversees all front‑of‑house operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise cleaning, preparation, and setup of equipment, utensils, and service areas.
• Arrange and clear tables, maintaining the highest standards of presentation.
• Oversee sector heads and waitstaff, ensuring they fulfill their duties.
• Monitor personal hygiene, staff appearance, and cleanliness of restaurants and bars.
• Control the mise en place and manage inventory of furniture, crockery, and linen.
• Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and take orders when needed.
• Promote and upsell menu items that align with company goals.
• Prepare work schedules, manage staff onboarding and departures.
• Participate in billing, cash handling, and daily financial reconciliation.
• Report any quality or presentation issues to senior management.

Required profile

• Formal training: Medium or higher level hospitality or tourism degree.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
• High level of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven capability to lead and develop teams.
