Managing Director Retail

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Managing Director to lead our client’s Spanish retail affiliate. Reporting directly to the Global CEO, you will own the full P&L, manage eight direct reports, and drive the execution of the retail strategy across sales, marketing, finance, R&D, and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Spanish affiliate focused on retail strategy.
• Implement robust processes in collaboration with international teams.
• Drive market expansion and ensure service‑level excellence.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve planning reliability.
• Translate commercial forecasts into actionable plans.
• Implement best practices in business development and negotiate top‑client relationships.
• Identify automation and digitalisation opportunities.
• Oversee inventory optimisation, production alignment and cost‑efficient logistics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the retail industry within multinational companies, preferably as a business‑unit leader.
• Proven experience working in European matrix environments.
• Strong team‑building and people‑leadership capabilities.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
