Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our client Fusion for Energy in Barcelona. The role involves contributing to the design and manufacturing of magnetic shielding systems, ensuring coordination across technical and project functions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and manufacturing of the Passive Mitigation System (PMS) and the Active Correction and Compensation Coils (ACCCs).
• Contribute to the preparation of specifications for mechanical components of the ACCCs.
• Apply relevant codes and standards to the final design stages.
• Follow up on manufacturing activities and maintain documentation of the systems.
• Provide support to project management tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Nuclear Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with RCC‑MR for manufacturing.
• Experience defining and following up manufacturing of metallic components, including shop‑floor level work.
• Experience in assembly activities for large components.
• Availability to travel approximately twice per month (3‑4 days per trip).
• Experience with the ITER/F4E quality management system (asset).
• Ability to work independently and within coordinated teams.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Spanish or Italian knowledge is a plus.
• Eligibility to live and work in the EU.
