Mechanical Engineer – Automation & Intralogistics

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering organization in Madrid. You will contribute to the design, development and delivery of mechanical solutions for complex industrial automation, parcel and material handling projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts, components, assemblies and technical solutions for automated systems.
• Create mechanical layouts, 3D models, installation drawings and specifications for parts, equipment and complete systems.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and project engineering records.
• Support the design and integration of conveyors, structures, handling equipment and other automation‑related components.
• Collaborate with engineering, project, sales, production and supplier teams to ensure feasible and cost‑effective solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical designs, standards and engineering processes.
• Work with international teams and stakeholders across Körber and travel occasionally to customer sites or Körber locations worldwide.

Required profile

• More than 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in automation, intralogistics, industrial machinery or parcel systems.
• Strong ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust mechanical solutions.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); German language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work autonomously within multidisciplinary teams.
