OrioleDB Deployment Engineer – Remote (Americas)

About the role

Supabase is looking for an OrioleDB Deployment Engineer to join its OrioleDB team. You will help shape the OrioleDB offering, work on packaging, release lifecycles, and improve CI/CD tooling while operating in a fast‑paced, async environment.

Key responsibilities

• Package software in the supabase/postgres repository using Nix (flakes) and migrate packaging to Nix over time.
• Manage OrioleDB release lifecycles, handling major, minor, and extension upgrades.
• Expand platform release systems to increase developer self‑service.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and testing/release processes.
• Resolve production issues by proactively identifying and fixing deployment problems.
• Co‑own integration of OrioleDB into the Supabase product.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, its extensions, and performance tuning.
• Infrastructure expertise with tooling and optimization (Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Nix package management (including flakes).
• Experience building for Linux and macOS aarch64 architectures.
• Comfortable in polyglot environments (C/C++, Go, JavaScript, Rust).
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience in async or globally distributed teams and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Willingness to mentor teammates on Nix‑based workflows.
