Part‑time Physiotherapist – Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit

About the role

VHIR is offering a part‑time physiotherapist position within its Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit in Barcelona. The role works closely with the Paediatric Neurology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation teams to assess and follow‑up children and adolescents with neurological and neuromuscular disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in clinical and research activities of the Paediatric Neuromuscular Unit.
• Perform standardized motor and functional assessments on patients, including mobility, muscle strength, joint range of motion, contractures, posture and functional abilities.
• Administer and record clinical outcome measures used in routine care, natural‑history studies and clinical trials (e.g., MFM, CHOP INTEND, Hammersmith scales, NSAA, RULM, PUL, timed functional tests).
• Collect, register and manage clinical and research data in compliance with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals – neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists, nurses and clinical researchers – to coordinate patient visits and study documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and eligibility to practise in Spain.
• Fluency in Spanish and good command of written and spoken English.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in paediatric physiotherapy, neurorehabilitation or neuromuscular disorders.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Use of standardized motor and functional assessment scales: MFM, CHOP INTEND, Hammersmith scales, NSAA, RULM, PUL, timed functional tests.
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
