Portfolio Loan Monitoring Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented, financially savvy Portfolio Loan Monitoring Specialist to manage a portfolio of loans and credit facilities that finance renewable energy projects across Spain. The role focuses on assessing credit risk, tracking covenant compliance and ensuring the long‑term performance of assets such as solar, wind and battery storage.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of project‑finance and corporate loans in the renewable‑energy sector, identifying and mitigating credit risks.
• Analyse borrower financial statements, project performance reports and key metrics (DSCR, LLCR, IRR) to assess credit health.
• Monitor financial and non‑financial covenant compliance, maintain compliance calendars and enforce loan documentation requirements.
• Prepare risk assessments, internal memos and portfolio summaries for credit committees and risk‑management teams.
• Act as primary contact for borrowers, internal credit, legal and ESG teams, as well as external co‑lenders, agents and consultants.
• Maintain accurate loan data, amortisation schedules and performance dashboards.
• Identify early warning signs of problem loans and collaborate with restructuring or workout teams when needed.
• Support stress‑testing, sector‑exposure reporting and other portfolio‑level analytics for senior management and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field; MBA, MS Finance or CFA preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English (minimum C1 level).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex financial issues.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data visualisation).
