Purchasing Specialist / Buyer

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist / Buyer will join Straumann Group’s global procurement hub in Madrid, supporting multiple business units across Europe. The role focuses on operational and tactical procurement activities, ensuring quality, cost‑effectiveness, timely delivery and regulatory compliance of purchased goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase materials, goods and services in line with the global category strategy and corporate policies.
• Execute RFQs/RFPs for non‑critical, lower‑value items (tail spend) and create accurate purchase orders.
• Drive cost savings, supply efficiency and process improvements while tracking results.
• Manage daily requirements, communicate with requisitioners and suppliers, and act as first point of contact for claim management.
• Maintain ERP master data, vendor master and source lists to ensure data accuracy.
• Lead internal campaigns to raise procurement awareness and support ESG initiatives across the organization and supplier base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional procurement certification such as CIPS is preferred.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, cost‑reduction techniques and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for master data and purchase order management.
