Quality Engineer

About the role

RBC is looking for a Quality Engineer to join its Caribbean technology team, supporting core banking and specialized applications. You will apply strong programming and computer‑science fundamentals to design, develop, and maintain test automation solutions that improve early defect detection.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks under senior guidance, aligned with RBC’s Quality Engineering standards.
• Participate in automated test planning and execution, with the opportunity to take on independent planning responsibilities.
• Drive defect‑prevention initiatives by applying analytical and technical expertise.
• Explore and prototype AI‑driven testing approaches such as intelligent test generation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create test suites, traceability matrices, and support test walkthroughs.
• Maintain and optimise automation scripts for core banking and specialised applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with test automation tools/frameworks and version‑control systems.
• Solid understanding of software testing concepts, including API/micro‑services testing and non‑functional testing.
• Analytical mindset focused on process optimisation through automation.
