Reliability, Maintainability & Testability Engineer – A400M

About the role

The Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RMT) Engineer will support the A400M program within Airbus Defence & Space. You will work closely with design offices, suppliers and customers to ensure that RMT requirements are integrated from concept through to service.

Key responsibilities

• Define and agree RMT requirements with the Design Office and suppliers, ensuring implementation in the product design.
• Conduct reliability, maintainability, operational and mission‑reliability analyses, availability studies and maintenance‑economics assessments.
• Produce engineering documentation such as FMECA, Failure Catalogue, BIT concept, MTA, QMA and FRACAS.
• Perform maintainability demonstrations on‑aircraft and using Digital Mock‑Up tools.
• Participate in design reviews with internal teams and customers, representing the RMT discipline.
• Coordinate RAMT issues with concurrent engineering teams and external suppliers.
• Maintain RMT data in logistics databases and support offer preparation.
• Investigate in‑service problems, determine root causes and recommend cost‑effective corrective actions.
• Develop RMT procedures, guidelines and technical reports for customers.
• Respond to customer queries related to RMT topics.

Required profile

• Professional experience in reliability, maintainability and testability engineering, preferably in aerospace.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary design teams, suppliers and customers.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause investigations and economic assessments.
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
