Security Engineer – Product & Cloud CISO

About the role

Google’s Security team protects the operating environment for millions of users and developers. As a Security Engineer focused on product and Cloud CISO initiatives, you will work closely with network and software engineers to identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities across Google Cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify security issues and design/implement controls, tools, and services to strengthen security processes.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, code reviews, and vulnerability testing.
• Research, reproduce, and mitigate vulnerabilities; develop tests and fuzzers.
• Collaborate with software engineers to proactively fix security flaws in code and system designs.
• Monitor network equipment for attacks and respond with mitigations and hardening measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in security engineering, computer/network security, and security protocols.
• 2+ years of coding experience in one or more general‑purpose languages.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in consulting or project management and understanding of offensive and defensive security methods.
