Senior Android Engineer – Launcher & Unity Integration

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to lead the creation of large‑scale Android launcher experiences used by millions worldwide. Based in Spain, you will design and build home‑screen environments that combine native Android functionality with embedded Unity gaming and advanced monetisation features.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of native Android launcher components such as home screen, app grid, drawer, folders, widgets, wallpapers and themes.
• Architect a modular launcher platform that supports multiple product variants while maintaining performance, stability and code reusability.
• Integrate Unity‑based games using Unity as a Library, ensuring smooth embedding, process isolation and optimal performance.
• Optimise system‑level metrics including startup speed, memory usage and responsiveness, complying with Google Play policies.
• Implement monetisation systems (ads, search, in‑game placements) using platforms like AdMob and Unity Ads.
• Collaborate with product, design and game teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and promote best engineering practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional Android development experience on large‑scale, production‑grade applications.
• Proven experience building or contributing to custom Android launchers or home‑screen replacements.
• Hands‑on experience integrating Unity as a Library or similar game engines into Android apps.
• Strong understanding of mobile monetisation systems and performance optimisation.
