Senior Application Tendering Engineer

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a Senior Application Tendering Engineer to join its Business Support team in Spain. You will support the sales process by preparing technical and commercial proposals for configurable equipment and engineering solutions, working closely with sales teams, customers, product managers and manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for configurable equipment and engineering solutions across projects, tenders and awarded contracts.
• Support the sales process from lead generation through negotiation with technical expertise and commercial support.
• Analyse customer requirements, perform equipment sizing calculations and recommend optimal technical solutions.
• Develop quotations and commercial offers using dedicated quotation and configuration tools.
• Manage opportunities, customer accounts and project information in Salesforce and related systems.
• Coordinate with customers, sales teams, product managers and manufacturing sites to deliver accurate, competitive proposals.
• Complete technical documentation and customer data sheets required for tender submissions.
• Support pricing activities, including special pricing assessments and non-standard solution proposals.
• Coordinate and monitor quotations for large and strategic projects, and identify improvements to quotation tools and processes.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on technical and commercial documentation, give technical guidance to internal stakeholders and build relationships with engineering companies and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Compliance, Equality and Data Protection requirements.

Required profile

• Technical engineering degree or higher education in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar tendering, application engineering or technical sales support position within the water sector.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and applications related to Sulzer equipment and solutions.
• Experience evaluating technical requirements and configuring engineered products.
• Advanced MS Office skills; English at B2 level or higher; Spanish and/or Portuguese relevant to the markets supported.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary, international teams.

Required skills

• Preferred: knowledge of Salesforce, SAP-CPQ, SAP environments or other quotation and ERP systems.
• Preferred: familiarity with tools such as Absel, Mixel, STARS, HSTProf, QM, ADP or similar configuration applications.
• Preferred: knowledge of customer procurement and tendering platforms, process optimization and market knowledge of the water industry.
