Senior Data Engineer

About the role

adm Indicia's Data Engineering team builds and maintains several data solutions for its business and clients, supporting growing demand for data-driven products and services. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own the end-to-end delivery of automated data processing solutions, from inception through delivery and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and interpret business and stakeholder requirements and turn them into technical solution designs.
• Create clear design documentation for technical audiences across multiple teams.
• Take technical ownership and accountability for the delivery of data solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, team members and cross-functional business teams, and estimate, prioritise and deliver work in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Design and develop scalable, robust and secure data solutions, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data models and integrations with downstream systems.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture colleagues to evolve, operate and enhance the Data Platform along its roadmap.
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement aligned with industry standards.
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide technical guidance to wider teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years delivering data solutions in a commercial environment.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, preferably AWS; Azure and/or GCP experience also beneficial.
• Experience with modern cloud-based data warehouses and platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly, produce high-quality technical documentation, and explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong planning and estimation skills, with a track record of meeting agreed timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written English.

Required skills

• ETL/ELT with tools such as Matillion and AWS services, and Python.
• Advanced SQL, including DML and DDL.
