Senior Manager, Decision Scientist - Global Development

About the role

J&J Innovative Medicine R&D DDSAI is recruiting a Senior Manager, Decision Scientist for Global Development, based in Madrid or Hyderabad. The role defines and operationalizes analytical enrichment, decision context and business logic within Global Development data products. It does not develop AI/ML models: instead it translates business needs into reusable intelligence requirements, works with AI and Data Science when models are needed, and partners with JJT (IT) to bring approved intelligence into secure, scalable production.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify decision problems with Global Development leaders and experts, and turn business questions into metrics, decision rules, assumptions and acceptance criteria.
• Define reusable descriptive, predictive and prescriptive intelligence capabilities and specify how validated outputs should be integrated, governed and explained.
• Map decision processes, dependencies and trade-offs with business experts, and create reusable frameworks supporting cross-study learning.
• Define business context, decision logic and human-review requirements for AI assistants and agents, and partner with AI and Data Science on methods and JJT (IT) on production.
• Engage JJT (IT) early on architecture, security and operations, and evaluate decision fitness in production.
• Track reuse, adoption and business impact, and drive adoption with Program and Product Management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant data, technology or life-sciences discipline; PhD welcome.
• 6+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D, clinical development, analytics, decision science or data products.
• Experience turning business questions into metrics and decision-support capabilities in cross-functional, regulated environments.
• Knowledge of Global Development processes across study planning and execution.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AI/ML outputs and GenAI or agentic use cases.
• Familiarity with data products, semantics, knowledge graphs, ontologies or provenance preferred.
• Strong analytical reasoning, stakeholder management, facilitation and communication.

• Base pay range of EUR 75,000 to EUR 129,260.
