Senior Manager, Software Development – RIBS Core Banking

About the role

The Senior Manager, Software Development (RIBS) will lead a distributed team that builds end‑to‑end solutions for a core banking platform serving Caribbean retail, wealth, treasury, capital markets and Canadian corporate and retail banking. You will partner with business and IT stakeholders to turn strategic priorities into scalable, production‑ready systems while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑shore and off‑shore development teams, including contractors, with responsibility for talent development, performance management and succession planning.
• Coach and mentor technical talent to improve capabilities and career progression.
• Drive delivery of RIBS Core Banking initiatives, applying best‑practice technologies and methodologies.
• Set priorities, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure clear communication across business and technical stakeholders.
• Guide the evolution of RIBS applications using DevOps, Agile, APIs and cloud platforms.
• Define technical direction, enforce engineering best practices and own roadmap development with architecture partners.
• Ensure compliance with risk‑management frameworks and oversee SME support for production stability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills with experience managing cross‑functional technical teams.
• Deep understanding of core banking systems (accounts, deposits, loans, payments) and experience delivering business‑critical production solutions.
• Proven ability to embed AI coding tools into development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Required skills

• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, UrbanCode.
• Automated testing frameworks (generic).
• Enterprise security concepts: SSO, SSL, encryption, authentication, role‑based access controls.
• AI coding assistants: GitHub Copilot, Claude.
• Experience with multiple programming languages, middleware technologies and IT standards.
