Senior Project Manager – Industrial Projects

About the role

Group-IPS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large industrial projects for a client in Italy, operating from our Madrid office. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end delivery, acting as the client’s trusted partner on site and ensuring safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for all project phases, from early consulting to execution and close‑out of industrial and civil works.
• Lead planning, budget control, cost estimation, quality management, permitting, procurement and contract administration.
• Serve as the main interface with the client, contractors, authorities and internal engineering teams.
• Manage project documentation, weekly site meetings, minutes and monthly progress reports.
• Review and validate contractor certifications, progress claims and variations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while ensuring adherence to milestones and contractual obligations.
• Integrate contractor schedules into a master plan and adapt it to site constraints.
• Supervise on‑site and off‑site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and local legislation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support decision‑making under time and cost pressure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical or related field).
• 15–20 years of proven experience in industrial projects as Project Manager or Project Director.
• Strong background in large‑scale industrial projects, preferably in primary industry, metals, mining or steel.
• Solid on‑site construction and execution experience on complex industrial sites.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; Italian is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence (Category B).
