Senior QA Test Automation Engineer

About the role

KION Group, which owns Linde Material Handling since 2006, is looking for a Senior QA Test Automation Engineer in Barcelona (Zona Franca). The role suits someone who combines strong automation expertise with an AI-first mindset, using Agentic AI to design, implement, maintain and run scalable automated tests. The engineer works in Agile teams with developers, product managers and other QA engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable automated test frameworks, including UI, API, integration and end-to-end tests.
• Improve test coverage, execution speed and maintainability, and eliminate flaky tests through reliability engineering.
• Build reusable components and contribute to quality engineering best practices.
• Perform exploratory, system-level and end-to-end validation.
• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code to generate, refactor and optimise test code, create test cases and data, investigate failures and support self-healing strategies.
• Integrate automated tests into GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines and maintain GitHub Actions workflows with parallelisation and test selection.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience.
• Strong experience in Agile environments and in automating web and API tests.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining automation frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code and practical use of Agentic AI in testing workflows.

Required skills

• Playwright for web test automation.
• Github Actions / GitHub Workflows.
• REST API testing and distributed services.
• Understanding of test automation architecture, test design and quality engineering principles.
